Shrnutí:A major figure in the women’s rights movement of the second half of the nineteenth century in the United States, Ernestine Rose has paradoxically long remained relatively unknown. To grasp the origins, characteristics and scope of Ernestine Rose’s cosmopolitan, heterodox feminism, this article examines the influence of Owenism and religious criticism on her career between Europe and the United States.
