Gaia:LGBTQ organisations have fought to earn marriage equality and they have used many arguments to legitimize their fight including the symbolic precedent of interracial heterosexual couples who have become legally recognized throughout the country following the Loving vs Virginia decision (1967). This article deals with the way this symbolic precedent is used.
