Resumo:The essay revisits the question of the canon in a French context. This it does by using the theory of fetishisation/defetishisation put forward by the British Marxist John Holloway. The essay formulates nine theses, beginning with the necessity to criticize the canon as an instance of fetishism and ending on the necessity to defend academic canons as the only canons where defetishisation counteracts fetishisation.
