Considering the challenges that migrant women face to their health, legal and economic status and the isolation they experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, this article highlights the strategic role played by social networks and digital narratives of illness in coping with cancer and treatment.Il est attesté que les migrants souffrent d’inégalités en matière de santé et d’accès aux soins de santé. Basé sur une recherche qualitative sur l’accès aux soins des femmes migrantes atteintes d’une maladie oncologique et vivant à Padoue (Italie), cet article analyse la manière dont elles font face aux difficultés grâce à différents types de réseaux sociaux. Compte tenu des défis auxquels les migrantes sont confrontées en raison de leur état de santé, de leur statut juridique et économique et de l’isolement qu’elles ont subi pendant la pandémie de COVID-19, l’article souligne le rôle stratégique joué par les réseaux sociaux et les récits numériques de la maladie pour faire face au cancer et à son traitement.Está demostrado que los inmigrantes sufren desigualdades en materia de salud y acceso a la atención sanitaria. A partir de una investigación cualitativa sobre el acceso a la atención sanitaria de mujeres inmigrantes con una enfermedad oncológica que viven en Padua (Italia), este artículo analiza cómo afrontan las dificultades a través de distintos tipos de redes sociales. Dados los retos a los que se enfrentan las mujeres inmigrantes debido a su situación sanitaria, legal y económica y al aislamiento que experimentaron durante la pandemia de COVID-19, este articulo destaca el papel estratégico que desempeñan las redes sociales y las narrativas digitales de la enfermedad a la hora de afrontar el cáncer y el tratamiento.Cairn free access |
