L’étude de ce riche patrimoine révèle les différentes tendances architecturales qui ont coexisté ou se sont succédées au cours de ce demi siècle, entre tradition et modernité. Elle permet d’appréhender les rapports entre architecture civile et architecture religieuse, entre architecture et arts plastiques mais aussi de mesurer les effets de l’évolution de la liturgie sur les constructions d’églises. Céline FRÉMAUX, Contemporary Church Buildings in the Pas-de-Calais (1945-2000). The contemporary religious patrimony is hardly studied. Yet, in the department of the Pas-de-Calais alone, the inventory of the churches rebuilt or built after 1945 yields a figure of sixty-nine buildings. Touched by the destructions caused by World War II, transformed by the demographic explosion, this department was a particularly active site for the contruction of church buildings. The study of this rich heritage reveals the various architectural tendencies that have co-existed or followed each other all through this half century, ranging from tradition to modernity. It allows to grasp the relations between lay architecture and religious architecture, between architecture and fine arts but also to measure the impact of the evolutions of the liturgy on the construction of churches. Er bestaan weinig studies over het hedendaagse religieuze patrimonium. Alleen al in het departement Pas-de-Calais werden na 1945 maar liefst 69 kerken gebouwd of herbouwd. Wegens de verwoestingen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en een demografische explosie was het departement op dit gebied een zeer belangrijke bouwwerf. Uit de studie van dit rijke patrimonium blijkt dat verschillende architectuurstijlen tijdens een halve eeuw naast elkaar bestonden of op elkaar volgden, van traditie naar modernisme. Er is oog voor de verhouding tussen burgerlijke en religieuze architectuur, tussen architectuur en plastische kunst. Men ziet ook de impact van de liturgie op de kerkbouw.Cairn free access
