| Résumé: | Since its creation in 1945 as the military air transport group (Groupement des moyens militaires de transport aérien—GMMTA), the military air transport command (Transport aérien militaire—TAM) has transported the French force projection capability as rapidly as possible and as close as possible to zones of crisis. Its modernised fleet, greater interoperability, operational expertise in all theatres of operation and its innovation in the use of assets all contribute to French independence and freedom of military action despite an increasingly restrictive regulatory framework. |
