This article explores the theme of identity by portraying the artistic and personal story of Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, also known to the world as Pippa Bacca, an Italian artist from Milano who was murdered at the age of 34 in 2008 in Turkey during her performance “Brides on tour”. It will be through the analysis of the variety of people present in the churchyard of San Simpliciano in Milano, gathered for the day of her funeral, that it will be possible to fully comprehend the complexity and multifaceted nature of the artist and her importance in the Italian cultural scene.
