The close relations of the Parisian cathedral clergy with the Chapter of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, from which they received a fragment of the cross acquired in 1120, justifies this insistence linked to the possession of a Christic relic, as in the Roman basilica of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme.
