| Résumé: | As part of the Census of Iberian Paintings in French Public Collections (RETIB), an unpublished panel attributed to Ferrer and Arnau Bassa, major figures in fourteenth century Catalan painting, has been identified in the Musée Labenche in Brive la Gaillarde. This panel, representing Saint Helena and Constantine holding the Holy Cross, seems to be the central element of an altarpiece commissioned by Pierre le Cérémonieux from Ferrer Bassa for the Holy Cross chapel in the Palais des Rois de Majorque, in Perpignan. This article proposes a stylistic and iconographic analysis of this work, placing it in the context of the king’s objective to equip his main palatine chapels with fixed altarpieces. It will also provide the opportunity to retrace the various routes taken through which this panel was able to reach, by way of private collections, the Musée Labenche.
