Résumé:Price controls have been used in the United States during nearly all of the country’s major conflicts. Different visions of the role of controls in society have existed, leading to different policies for the transition from war to peace. Contrasting the end of price controls after World War II and after the Korean War, this article examines two possible conceptions of controls, and the effect of these different visions on the transition from war to peace.
