Résumé:Sporting success is a social product in three ways. Firstly, it depends on the existence of structures for detecting and training sporting elites, which condition the performance of a national group. Secondly il is a function of a set of extra-sporting conditions which determine the form taken by the sporting career. Finally, it is the result of the specific social interplay that takes place during competitive interaction.
