As with all photoliterary narratives, the photographs disrupt linear reading by moving back and forth between the two media, reinforcing a paradoxical, restless and modern experience of writing-reading: an experience and aesthetic of gaps. The three regimes of these photographs reinforce the partition between the family narrative and the Annie Ernaux’s “contre-récit”, activating other gaps and tensioning the possibility of a shared common.Cairn restricted access
