It also serves as a tool to measure the power of countries and the efficiency of political and ideological systems in competition for world leadership. It involves views and strategies aiming at building an image of a football team – a country – according to prevailing interests and proposed results. However the emergence, in the field of football, of young Third World nations, particularly from Africa and the Middle-East region, upsets the established hierarchy of nations and produces as a consequence an awareness of the possibilities of getting rid of all forms of neo-domination.With football, African countries find a way of asserting and repositioning themselves on the world grid.
