The social trajectories of such “broker-producers” take place at the interface between the tobacco industry, its “culture of business” and the material, moral and social constraints of life in the village. Their study offers an opportunity to approach the empirical modalities of the inscription of the relations of production into their social and political contexts.Cairn free access
