Pero las lenguas son intrínsecamente realidades materiales, fónicas y/o gráficas, y sobre todo instrumentos de comunicación indisociables de la vida social y material de quienes las utilizan. Así pues, las lenguas son, de hecho, realidades y fuerzas materiales moldeadas por la vida material de sus hablantes/escritores, y que a su vez las transforman.La nature même des langues, comme systèmes de signes conventionnels et arbitraires, pourrait nous amener à ne considérer que leur caractère symbolique, structural et abstrait.
