To state it as such may appear extravagant, but it is not. Freud’s reflection does not proceed from preconceived ideas but from observation, when all other social theories stem from undisclosed metaphysical bias and idealism. And only Freud’s reflection allows one to understand the “madness” of societies whose devastating effects we are still constantly witness to. In this respect it is high time that psychoanalysts take into account Freud as a thinker of social reality, not only to measure its pertinence, but to integrate it into the direction of the cure. The aim of the cure is not on-ly (seule-ment) to extract oneself from the determinations of one’s fantasy which is at the base of the repetition compulsion, but to break free from historical truth, in other words from the norms of the society (so-ciété) or the religion of which we are members.On l’oublie trop souvent, Freud est sûrement le plus grand penseur de la réalité sociale. Le dire comme ça peut paraître extravagant, nullement. Non seulement parce que la réflexion de Freud ne procède pas d’un a priori mais de l’observation quand toutes les théories sociales procèdent d’un a priori métaphysique inavoué qui témoigne de leur idéalisme, mais également parce que cette réflexion permet seule de comprendre la « folie » des sociétés dont nous voyons sans cesse et encore de nos jours les effets ravageurs. À ce titre, il serait grand temps que les psychanalystes prennent en compte ce Freud penseur de la réalité sociale pour en mesurer la pertinence et pour l’intégrer dans la direction de la cure. La visée de la cure n’est pas uniquement de s’arracher des déterminations de son fantasme source de la compulsion de répétition mais de s’affranchir de la vérité historique, c’est-à-dire des normes de la société ou de la religion dont nous sommes membres.Cairn restricted access |
