Les spécificités de l’approche 3W sont analysées à la lumière des variables reliées à la FR afin de faire ressortir les apports et les limites d’une telle intervention sur le développement de cette capacité chez le parent.Theoretical perspectives on parental reflexive functioning and Watch, Wait, and Wonder approachParental reflexive functioning (PRF) is described as the parent’s capacity for understanding his child’s and his own behavior in terms of mental states (thoughts, desires, beliefs, feelings and intentions). PRF has recently been identified as a key variable responsible for intergenerational transmission of attachment security. The Watch, Wait, and Wonder (3W) approach, a dyadic intervention used with parent and child, is explored as a possible intervention that could enhance PRF. The present article reviews variables involved in the PRF and compares them with specific aspects of the 3W approach in order to discuss the contributions and limitations of this intervention for the development of PRF.Cairn free access
