Main description: Pacuvius (approx. 220 130 B.C.) is one of the most important representatives of Republican tragedy, of which only fragments remain. Titles of twelve tragedies are firmly attested, and over 400 of his verses are preserved as quotations by ancient authors. Petra Schierl presents a revised text with translation and a commentary on the fragments which considers also the context of their transmission
