Die Wiederentdeckung der Laokoon-Statuengruppe in Rom im Jahr 1506 regte zahlreiche Neubearbeitungen, auch in der bildenden Kunst, an. Die Beiträge des Tagungsbandes untersuchen zentrale Momente der antiken und neuzeitlichen Auseinandersetzung mit der Laokoonerzählung und der Statuengruppe? als Zeugnis von antikem Kunstvermögen und antiker Größe, Gottesfurcht oder Gottesverachtung, Leid, Gewalt und Schicksalsmacht. | ||

The rediscovery of the Laokoon statue group in Rome in 1506 led to numerous new works, including many in the visual arts.
