| Résumé: | Biographical note: Philippe Olivier, Sorbonne, Paris Main description: Dieses Wörterbuch des Alt-Okzitanischen der Auvergne basiert auf Originalmanuskripten aus den Jahren zwischen 1340 und 1540, die von kommunalen, feudalen und religiösen Autoritäten der Haute-Auvergne verfasst wurden. Es enthält circa 7.000 Einträge und 12.000 Definitionen zu Wörtern und Ausdrücken v.a. aus den Bereichen Recht, Handel, Handwerk und Militärwesen. Alle Begriffe werden durch einschlägige Beispiele illustriert. Viele der Wörter und Redewendungen sind hier erstmals belegt. Das Wörterbuch zeigt, wie gerade die Konzentration auf eine bestimmte Region und einen klar eingegrenzten Zeitraum unser Wissen über das Alt-Okzitanische erweitern kann. This dictionary contains about 7,000 entries and more than 12,000 definitions representing words and expressions mainly of the juridical, commercial, artisanal and military domains. All these terms are illustrated by examples carefully edited. Many first occurrences of various words and locutions are yielded. The dictionary shows how a thorough study of the documents of a restricted area and period may improve our knowledge of old occitan.
